WHEN SUPPLY FALLS VERY SHORT OF DEMAND

fire

stone

and iron

vied with that for food

quantities of love

udiscovered

were not mined

hence 

violence and hate

were the issues 

and topics of cnversation

offense and defence

ruled those ages

yet people carved

living stone was evidence

of appeasement

love and affection

unbeknownst

fawning and

flattery 

as art

with odes 

for urns

obeisance

and servility

mined 

from never depleted sources

within easy reach

inside us and them

and all

One ore

in use

greed

never expired 

or diminished

though

used through all ages

through

faith

belief

teaching

example

and thereof

lives

that show and tell

in fog

behind curtains

gestures

moans

giggles

sightless eyes 

and senseless senses
