as dwarfs

witches

and wise men

and cats who wear boots

irish and continental

japanese

involved with poisons

and swords and bells

and birds

and caves responding to sesame

megalomaniacs

and giants

mythical

and commercial

hoarders

and consumers of flesh 

and freedoms

telling

and reminding

children and not children

of dangers

risks

hazards and perils

of the known

and the unknown

in so many copies

of just a few books 

pored over

by minds

conditioned

to soaking them up

only to spit at others

with or without meaning

preparing children

and grown ups

and their thoughts

and minds

for later days

still

without rhyme or reason
