nor spelunking

physically

without holds for thresh

to deserving and  to unknown

a fluffy bunny to a four year old

in a village

on a treed roadside

to clutch 

with

joy to behold

team logo balls

and puzzles

to  siblings 3 and 7

whose mother walking

asked for some better things

at a gas station 

on  a desert

not unlike Bagdad Cafe

sets of hand tools

measuring tapes

nails and screws

to 

design 

and build 

or just repair dreams

to six or seven boys of 8 to eleven

who weighed us

in their glances

and almost feared to ask

for a few more sets

for family and friends

in their minds 

who had not made it to the rain water ditch

on the roadside with no shade for fathoms
