SHANGHAI CIRCUS REVISITED
ADDING A DALANG TO A BUNRAKU
riding a dragon somedays
one remembers the child
on a beach
in the pacific
with adventure in the blood
diving down waves
to the emerald kingdom
to find a princess playmate
a whole day of royal fun and games
then asking the dragon
to fly back home
to the beach
but not finding one
with same dunes and paths
and shoreline
an old man asks the child why he was crying
because everything is different
he says
the paths the shores the sand and the trees.

says the man
a day in the emerald kingdom is same as years here and now
but I did not know
and playing
with
and without time
